My research is situated in neuroaesthetics and empirical aesthetics, especially around embodied aesthetic experience, low-semantic visual content, and the appreciation of visual art beyond fluent or pleasure-based models. I use fNIRS and EEG in neuroaesthetic experiments, and I often use computational modeling to understand and explore aesthetic mechanisms;
My art practice explores bodily, material, and uncomfortable forms of experience, using bitterness, pain, and tension to express personal and collective suffering and their alongside wishes. I often work with everyday materials, and combine them with AI, data, HCI, and interactive systems to create participatory artworks.
\我的研究位于神经美学与经验美学的交叉领域,主要关注具身审美体验、低语义视觉内容,以及超越流畅性或愉悦导向模型的视觉艺术欣赏。我使用神经成像技术开展神经美学实验,并借助计算建模理解和探索审美机制;
Although my empirical research and my art practice are not always directly connected, they share a similar concern: the body, materiality, vulnerability, and experiences that cannot be fully explained through smoothness, pleasure, or simple understanding.
